“FERC.ai brings the contents of FERC's eLibrary inside the AI assistant I already use. FERC.ai cites sources for each answer it provides so every point can be validated and provides me with a summary comparison of how other parties approached an issue across proceedings and flag what needs deeper analysis — all without spending hours digging through eLibrary.”

MardiLyn SaathoffFormer general counsel for the Oregon Governor; former GC, CCO, and SVP Regulatory for Northwest Natural

“Having a library doesn’t make you smarter, but using the library to infer knowledge does. That’s what FERC.ai does. It uses the power of AI to draw factual inferences from the corpus.”

Insight, analysis, and precedent

Claude, Gemini, Copilot, ChatGPT, or your own tools explain the findings and show the sources.

Examples

One question in. Cited regulatory intelligence out.

Claude, connected to FERC.ai, visualizing the filing dates of a PG&E docket as a timeline with events labeled: docket opening, protest wave, deficiency letter, 221-page response, and final order.

One question. FERC.ai retrieved the docket; Claude found the pattern.

A PG&E docket, one plain-language ask: Claude pulled the filings, built the timeline, and spotted that activity clusters against deadlines.

Frequently asked questions

12 answers
How is FERC.ai different from FERC’s eLibrary?

FERC’s eLibrary lets you search for and download individual documents. FERC.ai connects 6+ years of FERC filings directly to your AI assistant of choice (Claude, Copilot, etc.), allowing you to search and analyze thousands of documents at once. Instead of reviewing filings one by one, you can quickly identify trends, research precedents, compare filings, and uncover insights across FERC’s extensive archives. FERC.ai provides citations and links back to the original FERC filings so you can always verify the AI-generated findings.

How does FERC.ai change what I can do with my AI assistant?

AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot don't automatically have access to the latest FERC filings. FERC.ai connects your preferred AI assistant directly to FERC's regulatory data, allowing you to research and analyze filings using up-to-date information. Answers include links to the original documents in FERC's eLibrary, so you can easily verify findings and dig deeper.

What can I do with FERC.ai that I can’t do with FERC’s eLibrary?

With FERC’s eLibrary, you search for and download individual filings, then read them yourself or upload them to an AI assistant for analysis. FERC.ai eliminates those steps. Simply ask a question in your preferred AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc.), and FERC.ai retrieves relevant filings so your assistant can analyze the information and return an answer with links to the original documents in FERC’s eLibrary.

What is a beta launch?

A beta launch gives early users access to a new product while it is still being refined. As a beta user, you'll be among the first to experience FERC.ai and have the opportunity to help shape its development by sharing feedback and suggesting improvements. During the beta period, you may encounter occasional issues as we continue to improve the product.

Why should I sign up for the beta program?

As a beta user, you'll get early access to a new way to search and analyze over 500,000 FERC regulatory filings, priority access to future regulatory data products, and the opportunity to help shape new features and capabilities. As a thank-you for your participation, you'll also receive personalized support and exclusive beta pricing, locked in for your first 12 months.

What are the limitations of FERC.ai?

FERC.ai is still evolving. During the beta:

  • Landmark orders: Not all landmark FERC orders are searchable yet. We’re working to add them.
  • Historical filings: Coverage focuses on filings from 2020 onward. We’re cleaning and adding older filings regularly.

We welcome your feedback as we expand coverage.

Is my data safe?

FERC.ai operates in read-only mode and does not share your searches with other users. Permeta has completed its SOC 2 and ISO/IEC 27001 audits, with final reports and certification pending. Operational logs may include search queries. Your AI assistant’s own data retention and privacy policies also apply.

Can anyone see what I’m searching?

Your searches are not shared with other FERC.ai users. Operational logs may include query text to support service operation and troubleshooting. Your AI assistant also has its own privacy and data retention policies. For questions about data handling, contact welcome@permeta.ai.

What if I have questions or technical issues?

We're here to help! You can reach our team at welcome@permeta.ai with questions or technical issues. We'll also host regular drop-in office hours and provide a dedicated Slack channel where beta users can get support, share ideas, and suggest improvements to FERC.ai.

Do I have to sign up for a full-year subscription?

No. There’s no annual commitment. Start with a 14-day free trial, then pay $200/month, with your beta price locked in for your first 12 months. Cancel anytime; a paid subscription remains active through the end of its current billing period.

Manage your account and billing to view billing details, download receipts, or cancel.

How can I verify that my AI assistant’s answers are accurate?

FERC.ai provides citations and links to the original source documents in FERC's eLibrary, so you can verify the information yourself. While no AI assistant is completely immune to errors, FERC.ai makes it easy to trace findings back to the underlying regulatory filings.

Is FERC.ai a connector or a plugin?

Both! FERC.ai uses a technology called MCP (Model Context Protocol) to connect your AI assistant to FERC's regulatory data. Different AI platforms use different terminology—Claude calls it a connector, while ChatGPT calls it a plugin. Regardless of the name, FERC.ai provides the same core functionality.
